Ram phal leaf tea

Ram phal and Seetha phal are look alike fruits grown in trees mostly in the wild also in home gardens where the climate is hot and humid. There is a close cousin to this variety also called lakshman phal in large parts of India while unknown whether Ram phal & Lakshman phal are same.

Now to the tea take few ramphal leaves fresh or dried chop them to big pieces ; put them in 1 cup of water bring it to boil and simmer for 5 minutes to make half cup tea per person. Steep them of clear from residue add honey to taste if needed. This tea is very energising can be had regularly; cures a lot of ailments including bedwetting in kids. Especially good for cancer patients and like. Since its uses were unknown previously this garden tree had vanished from home gardens and currently known medical values of this fruit and leaves puts them in lime light while the marketers sell them any where from 500- 1000/- Rs per kg via online.

Anybody taking a road trip on NH 7 from Bangalore towards Chennai can see the road sellers near Krishnagiri from Mcdonalds to tollgate belt. Atleast 10 sellers both ladies and men sit on the road sides with full baskets of seetha phal amidst the racing cars & motorists; which are wild fruits free of pesticides and chemicals costing lot less than the market and shops. Best of all tasty, healthy treat for anyone on road trip avoiding junk foods and colas.
