toddler podi


lot of toddlers love the taste of milagai podi with almost all the food. so i decided to make this podi as much enchanting with nutrition as against the regular idli podi which moms hesitate to give.

ingredients:

milagai vatral= 4 long pieces
millagu           = 1 tbsp
salt to taste
porikadalai    = 1 cup (pottukadalai)
ellu                 = 1/4 cup
karuvepilai    = 1 cup fried
oil needed for frying
black ulundhu= 1/2 cup
chukku           = 1 inch piece (dry ginger)
garlic              = 3 small pods fried

preparation:

fry milagai vatral, garlic pods, karuvepilai & millagu in 1 spoon oil keep them aside.
fry black ulundhu till gives out aroma, ellu till bursts up.
first grind chukku to nice powder, then add milagai vatral & other ingredients & grind smooth.
then last add black ulundhu & porikadalai to grind. this will give good crystal texture to podi.
finally taste the podi to adjust spicyness to your toddler taste. always mix podi with ghee only for toddlers as its very healthy.
